The BOFORS 40mm FLAK mod 58 in its closed version was only manufactured in this form for the German Navy.
The FLAK gun was used on the Type 148 Tiger fast attack craft and on the decks of the minesweepers of the following classes:
- Hameln Class 343
- Kulmbach class 333
-Ensdorf-Class 352
Each of these boats could accommodate two cannons: one on the forecastle and one on the aft platform of the deckhouse.
These were later replaced by the naval light guns (also available in our store).
The model
The gun consists of seven parts, some of which need to be printed multiple times. The model can be printed at any scale. For smaller scales, we recommend resin printing.
For a better visual result, we recommend using a transparent material for printing the gun's viewing cupola. Of course, you can also simply use a similar color there.
The gun is saved at its original size, so you can adjust it to any scale. Keep in mind that slicers read the model data at a smaller size than the actual dimensions. Slicers convert meter measurements to millimeter measurements.
The model can be printed with standard PLA. However, we recommend a more flexible material, such as PLA+. This has better bendability and makes the boat less prone to breakage.
Our advantages
- This model is not designed for any specific scale. The scales listed above are merely a recommendation. Keep in mind, however, that the level of detail varies with increasing scale. The smaller your model, the more detail will be lost.
- Unlimited copies – Buy the product once and use it for your entire fleet within your household. Especially practical for guns.
- Decide for yourself which materials you use for printing.
- You always have spare parts on hand and even after years of operation you don't have to spend time searching for defective parts.
- The limits of printing are determined by your 3D printer. The build volume of your printer defines the maximum possible scale.
