Mein Schiff 3 - the model

We present our signature model.

The model of the Mein Schiff 3 is now complete and available for purchase. We are delighted to be able to show you the model in all its glory.

The model

This model is quite something. The model consists of almost 250 different files. Combining the resulting components that ultimately need to be printed, you end up with almost 470 components—and that's not including the sun loungers.

The ship's hull consists of 33 individual components that are assembled to form a complete hull. A sophisticated system of frames, which are both glued and screwed together, ensures the necessary stability of the hull.

Space for a lot of accessories

The hull offers plenty of space for additional equipment such as lights, sound and other gadgets.

For the lighting installation, some components are hollowed out to accommodate thin cables, allowing you to bring lighting to every conceivable location. This allows you to install authentic lighting in the ship. However, we don't provide instructions for installing the lights, as we are not permitted to provide electronic expertise. Nevertheless, we have thought through many aspects for you.

The superstructures

The model's superstructure is designed to be lightweight yet sturdy, ensuring the ship will perform very well in the water.

The 1:150 scale model, when printed from ABS, will require approximately 5-6 kg of ballast. This ballast allows the ship to sit elegantly in the water and keep it upright even in tight turns. This makes the ship look true to the original.

While we were creating the blueprints, we built the ship in parallel. This allowed us to identify problem areas and solve them directly during the construction phase, as well as provide you with tips and tricks in the building instructions.
