Who still remembers the old NAVY twin sticks for controlling model ships?
Unfortunately, this stick set has only survived to a limited extent and has not really made it into the digital age.
We have reinvented the Navy TWIN Stick and now we are taking it one step further with the NAVY-POD Controller. The NAVY-POD Controller is the solution for all models with Schottel or AZI-POD propulsion. The controller is similar to the original controllers of ships with PODs. We have adapted it so that it can be installed in the RADIOLINK remote controls without much effort.
The thrust controller regulates the speed of your propeller. This is located on a 356° rotating panel that can be turned 178 degrees to the left and 178 degrees to the right. This allows you to control your model like an original.
The highlight:
You only need to print out the controller to exact dimensions and you can even use the internal components of the remote control for the new controller. In theory, no soldering is required for the conversion - however, we recommend that you remove three cables from a potentiometer when dismantling it and solder them back on later.
Scope of delivery:
Both controllers are already mirrored in the download package.
What needs to be purchased:
To assemble the controller you need the following building materials:
6x countersunk screw 2.5x12 (wood screw)
1x thin cable tie
2cm wire diameter 1-2mm
Compatibility:
The controller is compatible with the following remote controls:
Radio link: AT9; AT9S; AT9S Pro; AT10; AT10II
The pictures show a technical drawing of the hole dimensions and the installation diameter. You can use this to determine the installation compatibility of the module with other remote controls.
The potentiometers used for Radiolink correspond to the following component designation:
- XV09411N1OFF
- CF-R0909N-B5K
Both must have a resistance value of 5K (5000 OHM). The PrintShip3D NAVY-POD controller is designed to accommodate these potentiometers. If your other remote controls match the installation dimensions shown in the drawing and the potentiometers of the joysticks also match 5K, you can adapt and install the DUAL-PULT controllers for other remote controls using the potentiometers mentioned above.
Do you dare to install the controller in your remote control? To help you "explore" other remote controls for compatibility, we have uploaded a test ring to CULTS3D that you can download for free. This will allow you to test the fit and find out whether the hardware is suitable. Click here to go to the test ring.
The advantage?
- You buy our product once per household and can use it for all your remote controls.
Please be fair and do not share it with others outside your household or club.
- By choosing the filament you can realize your individual color wishes for the component.
- Included are print templates for sticking the throttle controls.
The building instructions
This time it is not available as a PDF for download, but we sat down and made a YouTube video of the installation of the controller. You can watch the tutorial at the LINK view.
