You often see them in ports near naval bases: the Navy's pinnaces. Their original designation was: Commander's Boat 9.7m. On the old tender ships and destroyers, these boats were standard equipment and always on board. Secured to the deck, they were launched as needed using a crane and used as launches. Originally made of wood, they are now made of fiberglass, retaining virtually the same appearance.
Today, these boats are stationed and used for nautical training at naval schools. Many former sailors earned their boat operator's license on this very type. Now you can relive those memories with this boat and learn a bit more on this type yourself. The model is fully RC-compatible.
The data set has been specifically optimized for FDM printing and offers a balanced combination of detail, printability, and stability. The model impresses with its simple construction and low part count of 45 components. The STL files are organized into subfolders, tailored to the building instructions, ensuring clarity. Print only what you need for the next step.
Especially for beginners
This kit is especially designed for beginners and is scalable. Experienced modelers will also find it rewarding. The model offers room for custom modifications. Or it can be a quick and easy project for creating something small but refined. The model is optimized for 1:25 scale. Scale the boat to 4000% in your slicer to achieve a 1:25 scale. A selection of decals and SVG files for windows are included.
Dimensions of the boat at a scale of 1:25
- Length: 388 mm
- Width: 114 mm
- Overall height: 177mm
Model Basic Cube 5.1m
What does base cube mean? The base cube represents the maximum dimensions of the model layout. Every component to be printed fits within this cube. If the boat were printed at its original size (1:1), you would need a build volume of 6.9 m x 6.9 m x 6.9 m to print your parts. Divide this value by the scale, and you'll know how large your build volume needs to be.
Material consumption (ATTENTION approximate figures):
The model kit consists of a total of 215 STL parts to be printed.
For the 1:25 scale model, you will need 1–1.5 kg of filament, depending on your support settings and layer heights. Please note that this information is not guaranteed and may result in higher or lower consumption depending on the supports, failed prints, and other factors.
