At the S.S. Nomadic is a 69 meter long tender ship from 1911. She has a long history and is known as “Titanic’s little sister”. The Nomadic was built at the same shipyard, Harland & Wolff in Belfast, alongside the Titanic and Olympic. In April 1911 she began service as a tender ship in the French port of Cherbourg. Since the port of Cherbourg was not deep enough for the Olympic-class ships, the Nomadic, along with the S.S. Traffic used to bring passengers and goods that were to be disembarked or disembarked in Cherbourg to the ship. For a long time, the Nomadic served as a feeder ship in the port of Cherbourg and also brought passengers on board the Queen Mary. Today, the last existing White Star Line ship, the Nomadic has its home at the Titanic Museum in Belfast on the grounds of Harland & Wulff found.

The model

This set is a trial set. This means that you will be provided with a selection of components made by us. This way you can see whether you can handle the components and the 3D printing of such components. You can also make sure of the quality of the parts as a tangible quantity.

ATTENTION: If you intend to buy the entire boat, the parts should not be glued together, as you will later have to connect the hull section to the others and this will require sanding work.

The parts can be printed with conventional PLA. However, we recommend something more "elastic" material, such as. PLA+. This has better flexibility and makes the boat less prone to breakage. Printing with ABS or other materials is of course also possible.

ADVANTAGE OF THE TRIAL SET

If you buy this trial set, after successful purchase you will receive a separate email with a voucher code for the S.S model alongside the order confirmation. NOMADIC in the amount of the purchase price you paid. This means that if you make a positive decision to buy the speedboat, you will not suffer any disadvantages in the purchase price.

our advantages

  • This model is not designed for any specific scale. However, note that the quality of detail varies with scale. The smaller your model, the more details are lost.
  • Any number of copies - buy the product once and use it for your entire fleet - in your household.
  • Decide for yourself which materials you use for printing.
  • The limits of printing are determined by your 3D printer. The build space of your printer determines the maximum possible scale.

RC compatibility

The later model can be used as an RC boat. Corresponding foundations for servos and motors are present in the fuselage and are sometimes printed into the structure as normal. Separate mounting plates with prepared mounting holes for the front sections are also included and can be printed out if required.

Note that this set is not RC capable, just the later completed model of the S.S. NOMADIC.

In the pictures you will find a table in which the boat is converted into various scales. The dimensions intended for any fittings are listed for several scales.
