The Welin davit was a revolutionary boom for lifting and lowering lifeboats in the early 20th century. What was revolutionary was that the davit could be swung out and in, allowing multiple boats to be launched with one facility.
This davit was also used on the Titanic and the Olympic, but here only as a larger and double frame version.
The model
Assembly instructions are included in English and German. Each part must be printed once. Certain parts must be printed mirrored for opposite use per lifeboat. Please read the instructions carefully.
Model building experts can also design the davit to be movable. However, this requires materials to be purchased separately and are not part of the set.
our advantages
- This model is not designed for any specific scale. However, also note that the quality of detail varies as the scale increases. The smaller your model, the more details are lost and printability becomes more difficult.
- Any number of copies - The PrintShip3D advantage is particularly noticeable with davits. A ship is usually not equipped with just one lifeboat. The following still applies: buy the product once and print the model as often as you need it.
- You always have spare parts on hand and you don't have to spend time researching to find defective parts, even after years of operation.
- The limits of printing are determined by your 3D printer. The build space of your printer determines the maximum possible scale.
